One more chance to get it right

Four weeks ago, the Centaurs already took on this very same course. But due to some chaos with sign-ups on the opening day of the Zwift Racing League, teams were offered a rare opportunity: a complete do-over. The catch? Once you start the rerun, your new time replaces the old one, even if it’s slower. High risk, high reward.

Last time, a few mishaps cost us precious seconds. Dom had some early trouble, and being overtaken by another team didn’t help either. On paper, there was time to gain. The only problem? We’d gone from six riders down to five this time around, which meant less draft, less rest, and a little more pain. The target: beat 36:01.

From the start, the team looked sharp and focused. Everyone slotted neatly into position, rotating smoothly through the rolling terrain that, frankly, never seemed to give us a flat moment to breathe. Apart from one tiny gap that was quickly shut down, it was textbook teamwork. Communication was crisp, handovers were silky, and spirits were high.

As the finish line came into view, the Centaurs bunched up tight for one last push. The watts went up, the breathing got heavier, and the legs screamed, but so did the results: 35:32! A full 29 seconds faster than before, good enough for what seems to be second place in our league, just 3 seconds off the top spot.

A well-earned redemption run and a fine way to wrap up Round 1 of the ZRL. The Centaurs now get a few weeks of rest before lining up again for Round 2. Expect fresh legs and renewed energy!
