SEASON 1 FINALE - Downtown Dolphin

Lead 3.33WKG@283W
Wow…. Now the dust settles after the final ride and we have concluded the first leaderboard of what will be noted as the official inaugural season of PR.
All points collected by all riders since January this year.
139 riders in total on the board and 6256 points divided amongst you all.
And what a battle it turned out to be at the end!!
Given that the two top riders ended well up in the 800’s and that it came down to the very last corners of the very last ride seemed almost too scripted. Hollywood would have been told to turn it down a notch.
The final decider settled on a crit style points ride, to offer something for a wider type of rider, keeping it as fair as I could see possible between the two main contenders.
Ride layout published, tactics and potential alliances made possible before the start gun.
And what a show you put on!!
Fastest ever PR ride and still I found myself hanging at the back, most of the time.
Incredible efforts by you all. Perfect way to end this season.
“Enough with the yapping man!! Just give me the effin result!” is what you are all thinking, so here goes:
Season finale ride winner TODAY:
Jack Wade @ 143pts
Kevin Sas @ 140 pts
Nigel Meads @ 127 pts
OVERALL SEASON PODIUM:
Jack Wade @ 828 pts
Nigel Meads @ 812 pts
Ben Nicol @ 642 pts
OVERALL CAT B WINNER:
Jack Wade
Daniel West
Roger Rousseau
OVERALL WOMENS WINNER:
Robyn Allcock
Vicki Boddice
Nini
Crazy how close it got.
If Nigel had one more lap he would have caught and settled the score in his favor, lapping twice. Insanely strong ride!
Jack seeming convinced about his unavoidable demise kept fighting till the end.
Only on the very last laps it started tipping in his favor, making it necessary for Nigel to catch.
I was thoroughly entertained!!
Congrats to all winners!!
And thanks to all riders that participated at all levels so far. You riders make the rides.
From now the format changes somewhat.
The seasons will be four weeks running, in terrain of different variety to suit all rider types.
Flat for sprints, hilly for punchers, mountains for climbers and a stage with a build in TT segment where contenders will be on TT bikes for that segment.
Jerseys still to compete for and an overall yellow winner at the end of each four stage run.
I can’t wait to see how this change will do and to start again with you all for a new run.
Amazing efforts today!!
Andi has acknowledged all your hard work and offered a generous prize, so Jack and Nigel you will be granted some coveted ZZRC Merch to put on display in your pain caves!
Well deserved!!
